Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub

Birmingham Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) launched on the 28th July 2014 as a fully integrated multi-agency team which involves key safeguarding agencies with a view to better identifying risks to children, and improving decision-making, interventions, and outcomes.

The creation of a MASH enables the multi-agency team to appropriately review their information systems, share all appropriate information in a secure environment, and ensure that the most appropriate response is provided to effectively safeguard and protect the child.

OPAL is all about achieving a total `cultural change’ within a school, moving from an attitude that dismisses play as an inconvenience and a risk, to a whole-hearted belief by all staff in the benefits of active, rich, varied and challenging playtimes for all children. The programme will inevitably fail without the full commitment and constant support of the Headteacher.
