Sexual Health services in Birmingham are changing. From Monday 10 August 2015, sexual health services in Birmingham and Solihull will be run by Umbrella - a new service provided by University Hospitals Birmingham. So if you want to,find reliable contraception, get advice about safe sex, or be tested for a sexually transmitted infection (STI), look out for the new Umbrella logo.
Umbrella will be a new integrated service – it is a partnership of sexual health providers across the city, including community pharmacists, GPs, charities, support organisations, Birmingham City Council and other NHS Trusts.
Umbrella will focus on providing people with the knowledge and services they need to enjoy a healthy sex life, and to avoid unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV, and to support those experiencing sexual coercion or violence to seek help.
Umbrella will provide a wide range of sexual health services in a variety of locations across the city, in dedicated sexual health clinics and through over 100 GPs and pharmacies which will deliver Umbrella sexual health services in the community.
The services being provided by Umbrella are:
Advice and information
Condoms via the C-card scheme
STI and HIV screening,
Treatment for STIs
Counselling, psychotherapy and support services
